As the Director of Trout Unlimited’s North Coast Coho Project based in Fort Bragg, and a resident of Mendocino County. I strongly support SB 3288, which was developed collaboratively and will strengthen conservation of rivers (including the Eel) critical to salmon recovery. As climate conditions change increasing the risk of catastrophic wildfire and drought we must protect and conserve the health of our forest and water resources. Please approve this letter of support for S. 3288.

On behalf of the Redwood Empire Chapter of Trout Unlimited and our members, I would like to voice our strong support for SB 3288. This legislation is critical to our communities, many of which are based on the region's natural resources. This bill supports outdoor recreation, improves watershed and forest health and reduces wildfire risk. The bill will strengthen conservation of salmon and steelhead rivers, protect water sources, and help restore areas degraded by illegal cannabis grows.

Please approve a letter supporting the PUBLIC Lands Act, US Senate Bill 3288, sponsored by Senator Harris and originally introduced and passed through the US House by Congressman Huffman. This well-balanced plan for federal public lands in Northern California was produced following more than a year of consultation with a wide variety of businesses, organizations and individuals to incorporate their concerns. This bill deserves the unanimous support of the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors.
