5i) Discussion and Possible Action Regarding Department of Transportation Director's Approval of Rate Adjustments for Solid Waste Collection Area Number Two (Fort Bragg and Ukiah Areas)
(Sponsor: Transportation)
I join with Candace Horsley and Ms. Parlee concerning the egregious rate hikes by Solid Waste. The retroactive charges are totally unfair to small businesses who are already struggling to survive. I want to make you aware that Solid Waste charges a minimum of $85.00/month if our cleaning person happens to put a plastic bag filled with recycling in the recycling container. It appears that suddenly, Sold Waste believes they can soak the businesses as they wish. When do businesses in this county become important and feel protected?
