On behalf of your First Five Commission of Mendocino County (FFM) we are requesting that you agendize for action the relief of A-87 fees for FFM and action to direct the Auditor, LLoyd Weer to cease and desists with his restrictive and unauthorized action to control and limit the legal and duly authorized fiscal activities of your legally appointed FFM commission.
Loyd Weer, over the last number of years has dramatically increased and then applied A87 fees to FFM as if we were a full department of the County of Mendocino, we are not. We are not allowed to avail ourselves of all of the county services as a county department.
When we have attempted to negotiate a resolution of this issue Loyd seized FFM funds. He has also exceeded his authority by arbitrary restricting and refusing to release funds duly authorized by the commission. Services we approved to serve the children and families of Mendocino County.
We ask that you hold a public hearing and then take appropriate action.

I oppose agenda item 4o, the renewal of Liz Barney’s contract. As a constituent of district 5 I am concerned that Liz Barney cannot impartially do her job.

I'm a resident of Mendocino County and recently learned about the troubling hire of Liz Barney to do contracted work for the county to disseminate information to the public. As a critical thinker, taxpayer, proud resident of this county, and person of color, I respectfully and vehemently ask the board not to approve Liz Barney's contract or appointment. I do not have any confidence that she can do her job objectively.
Her Parler account is full of racist and dangerous far-right views, including one that calls for Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib of Michigan's assassination. This intolerant behavior is absolutely unacceptable for a person expected to communicate with the public on the County's behalf. She believes Donald Trump won the election (including California) and that mask-wearing is a symbol of ANTIFA. Mask wearing isn’t a political statement or choice, it’s a matter of Public Health. When someone works in service of the public, they should be held to a higher standard: employed, contracted, or otherwise. Liz Barney's contract is up for renewal next week. I urge the Board not to approve that renewal.

Liz has the right to believe what she does, we all do, but when someone works in service of the public, they should be held to a higher standard: employed, contracted, or otherwise.
Please do not renew her contract this Tuesday.
