5a) Discussion and Possible Action Including an Update Associated with the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19); and Provide Possible Direction Regarding Essential Services in Mendocino County, Operational Preparation and Response, and Associated Countywide Economic Impacts
(Sponsor: Executive Office)
I attended the County vaccination clinic open to agricultural workers on Saturday 2/20/21 and have two concerns and questions:
1) I noticed there was an unmarked police car and wondered if police were stationed at the entrance for every vaccination clinic, or for all Ukiah fairground clinics, or if this was a special case. Regardless positioning police at the entrance is unnecessary, unwelcoming, and intimidating for some. Can you please reconsider this policy?
2) Both Pfizer and Moderna have patient fact sheets in Spanish available from their respective websites. VERS reporting information is in Spanish available from CDC website. Is there any reason the county should not print at least 5% of the materials important for vaccine recipients in Spanish?
Thank you. And thank you for continuing to work on making vaccines accessible to all - especially those most at risk and with the most access challenges.
