Strong IT leadership has potential to increase efficiency for all departments.
Strategic Planning brings direction for staff of the county to fulfill. The Board should want few employees reporting directly to them.

This sounds like a really nice job for someone. My understanding is that the Board plans to appoint DCEO Rau to this position. Ms. Rau has no real background in IT, other than moving her office into the department space. My understanding is she receives her education directly from Client First company, at taxpayer expense. I plan to look into the amount of money spent on Client First at her direction over the past few years. Perhaps the Board should do the same before even considering her for this position. Information Services deserves a great department head that knows I.T. inside and out, and already has an education and experience that field.
