Good morning,
My name is Garth Saalfield; I’m a resident of the Fort Bragg area of the Mendocino Coast and I’m calling to express my strong support for the GrassRoots Institute’s Climate Crisis Workgroup’s recommendations to the county Board of Supervisors to establish a Budget Item to cover, as a minimum, the 3 climate action issues proposed in their letter of May 10, 2021.
So as not to be repetitive and to perhaps allow others more time for comments I’ll simply mention those 3 items of major concern to be; the installation of photovoltaic panels on as many of the county facilities as possible; the installation of as many new or upgraded electric vehicle charging stations as possible to enhance availability for our residents and to entice the traveling tourists AND the development of an all electric MTA system; especially along the coastline, but also throughout the county and the use of smaller vehicles on expanded, enhanced routes.
I believe by dedicating as much of these ARAP dollars as possible, the county can accomplish important and corrective measures towards what many scientific studies have shown to be uncertain times ahead. We need to be prepared in as many ways as possible.
Thank you for your consideration for these important issues
