5f) Discussion and Possible Action Including Review, Adoption, Amendment, Consideration or Ratification of Legislation Pursuant to the Adopted Legislative Platform

I am Margo Frank from Ukiah, a member of Climate Action Mendocino. Solar installation on homes and businesses is a crucial piece of how we can lower greenhouse gas emissions. Thank you for writing a letter in opposition of NEM3 which the big three utility companies in California see as a threat to their enormous profit margin. Mendocino County will be joining hundreds of thousands of other entities and individuals who want to continue to support solar installations wherever possible.
Dear Supervisors: I respectfully request adoption of the letter to the California Public Utility Commission and State policy makers, opposing the proposal known as NEM3, which would reduce payments and increase charges to small solar energy providers that provide electricity to the grid. NEM3 has been intentionally designed by privately owned "public" utilities (PG&E, San Diego Gas and Electric, Southern California Edison) to benefit only the shareholders of these privately owned utility companies. Over and over again, the best interests of the people and the environment of California have taken a back seat to the interests of the shareholders of the so-called "public" utilities. Please do the right thing, and take this step to protect the people and the precious environment of our state. Thank you
