Regarding the proposed June 18, 2022 burn at the Ukiah Gun Club, Vichy Springs Road, across the street from the Vichy Springs residential community.
1) the site is contaminate with lead
2)) control burns have occurred at the gun club that have gone out of control
3) the City of Ukiah is involved in this decision, however residents have not received communication or announcement, are CEQA rules being followed?
4) this is a CEQA project, calling it otherwise is a loop hole, please conduct practice burns where they do not impact communities
5) burning lead contaminated lead ground and vegetation will increase potential for lead (Pb) oxide to impact our community across the street.
6) there are alternative methods to vegetation control including mowing and discing, not firing at steel targets, limiting gun club use during the fire season
7) air quality will be impacted without any environmental impact study
8) at worst, this burn could burn down our community without study
