I have applied to positions within the county and social services that I qualified for, but am denied. I know of multiple other people that have this same issue of applying to multiple positions they qualify for and being denied with the reasoning being they do not qualify. When looking for work, taking the time to appeal this decision is costly in comparison to taking another position outside of the county.
As a person who already works for the county this should have been an easy process to move laterally, but it seems like there is hidden requirements that applicants are not aware of. What can be done to make this process more transparent? How can we effectively appeal a denial when the denial seems to be in error already?
