    Dear Board of Supervisors,
Our Association is pleased to see Movable Tiny Homes being discussed by the Board for residents of Mendocino County to have viable options for creating more affordable, attainable, and sustainable housing.

As a graduate of Ukiah High School (class of 1988), and a citizen of Mendocino County since 1980, I love the culture and surrounding area of this County.

Now 30+ years later, I am CEO of GO TiNY! Now, a local Mendocino County start-up, and a Board Member of the Tiny Home Industry Association (THIA). THIA and my organization are grateful for the work being done to upgrade housing initiatives in Mendocino County that would allow Movable Tiny Homes housing as ADUs, cluster developments, and as primary residences, just like Placer County has recently passed.

My husband and I lived in Marin County for 7 years and in that time spent $100k in rent with nothing to show for it. We dreamed of homeownership, something that millions dream of but for so many is out of reach. This keeps homeownership low and rental cycles high which limits legacy wealth handed down generation by generation. The more we empower our citizens towards homeownership the more vibrant our Mendocino culture and economy is.

Living a smaller footprint lifestyle, allows us to fix our housing crisis while also reducing the impacts of our climate crisis.

Thank you for the opportunity to work with the county in providing the Mendocino County Movable Tiny Home briefing document that led to the Memorandum on Tiny Homes.

    Dear Board of Supervisors,
We are pleased to see this item being discussed by the Board.

Our company is supportive of the recommendation to provide direction to staff regarding establishing regulations for "Moveable Tiny
    Homes".

As land use consultants, over the years we have had numerous clients seek housing in the form of a Tiny Home, as a way to affordably move to our incredible County and become members of our community. Tiny homes have so much utility, as stated in the memos from Director Krog and the Tiny Home Industry Association; it would be very helpful to have this as a permissible building type.

Please do direct staff to establish easily navigable regulations for permitting Tiny Homes in our County.

    Thank you,
    Amy Wynn

    Dear Honorable Board of Supervisors:
Thank you for bringing this matter to the public. I support the concept of moveable tiny homes. There are some items for you to consider while discussing this proposal.
    1. Recommend that the window requirement mandate at least one pane be tempered glass so as to comply with the State Fire Marshal's Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) ignition resistant construction requirements for structures located ion High Fire Hazard Severity Zones.
    2. Recommend that California Building Code requirements for separation between structures on the same parcel apply to moveable tiny homes.
    3. Recommend that the Board direct Environmental Health to provide a simplified septic system standard for moveable tiny homes.
    4. Recommend that the Board direct Planning and Building to provide a standard entry door landing, stair and handrail plan for moveable tiny homes.

    Thank you,
    Scott Ward
