Please pull this item from the Consent Calendar for further consideration. Cutting $2 million from unpaid taxes owe by marijuana growers is nothing more than a Gift of Public Funds - and that is illegal..
MCA strongly supports the adoption of Item 3c, in line with the dozens of comments in favor at the 03-14-2023 Board of Supervisors meeting. Please see our attached memo for more details.
It is essential that this item be adopted as written on 03-28 so that operators may begin to enter the payment plan as soon as possible to have their application reviews put back into the queue. Any changes or delays could cause irreparable harm not just to the operators who may be forced out of the regulated market, but the entire Mendocino County community as well.
We urge you to pass the existing Tax Reform language as it stands.
I oppose item 3C from being adopted without further consideration and ask someone pull it from the consent agenda so that further consideration of its provisions and implications may be had.
