Until Mendocino County effectively manages the taxpayer dollars they already get I AM OPPOSED to this potential tax. Recent examples of the County CAO and the Board of Supervisors wasting tax payer dollars:

Paying way too much for a convalescent home on Whitmore Lane without due diligence and without a pre-purchase inspection which would have revealed a leaking roof, dry rot of structural members, antiquated electrical, plumbing and heating systems, necessitating have to demolish the building resulting in paying more than $1,000,000 for a city lot.

Paying tax payer dollars to relocate the Veterans Services operations to a small windowless office at Social Services until public outcry forced the CAO Darcie Antle and the Board of Supervisors to spend more tax payer dollars to move Veterans Services back to its original location

Combining the Treasurer, Tax Collector and Auditor's offices into one department despite the objections of long term and respected county management employees such as Shari Shapmire whose warnings about this bone head move came true and now CAO Darcie Antle and the Board of Supervisors are trying to undo that expensive and ill conceived decision.

Firing Department elected official Chamise Cubbison because the Board of Supervisors bought into the District Attorneys' petty vendetta over not getting reimbursed with taxpayer dollars for a Christmas dinner at the Broiler where non-county employees had their cocktails and dinner covered by the DA's. Office.

Because of Ms. Cubbison refusing to use taxpayer dollars to pay for non-employee meals and drinks a bogus criminal charge was made and the Board of Supervisors fired an elected official. Ms. Cubisson hired an attorney and the bogus criminal charges were thrown out of court. The Board of Supervisors spent more taxpayer dollars to pay for an out of town attorney to defend their ridiculous decision. Now Ms. Cubbison is back at work at County.

The foregoing are just a few examples of CAO Darcie Antle and the Board of Supervisors wasting taxpayer dollars. Why would anyone believe that giving the monkeys in this circus more of our hard-earned money is a wise idea?
