I support the abolishment of the True Up tax, which was put in place by the Supervisors years ago because they didn't have trust in the cannabis farmers to be honest about their income and thought we were all liars. Let us support the operators who have battled the fall of the market yet still remain commited to growing quality medicine for consumers. We remain at the table despite the lack of income, support, or easy market access. We carry on, all for the love and hope that we may still some day get recognition for fighting to stay small, caring about our environment, and growing some of the best medicine on the planet.
Take away this crazy damaging, disrespectful True Up. Allow us to breath with a year of zero taxes and let those who have not paid into our county to catch up. This gesture is symbolic of a positive new era and fresh start. Let's reset and do this correctly and most of all, fairly. Thank you
As a legacy Cannabis operator in Redwood Valley, a third generation cultivation family, who has been working towards legalization prior to prop 64 and has been put in every last effort and dollar into this industry. Our family is in support of a removal of the tax altogether or at least a severe reduction in that tax. Let’s follow in suit with other counties like Humboldt County and make sure that we support our operators so that they can contribute to the local economy for generations. People are dropping off the map like flies these days, it is very disheartening and hard to watch. Maybe if we had not been getting double taxed from the very beginning then this issue wouldn’t be happening. Thank you for your consideration.
