Dear Members of the Board of Supervisors, I am writing to strongly oppose Agenda Item 26-0429 and urge the Board to uphold the Planning Commission’s well-reasoned denial of the proposed 10-pump gas station and convenience store in Redwood Valley. The site's proposed location near the bottom of the Highway 101 grade introduces severe traffic safety risks. I drive this route to get to work and in combination with the heavy equipment already constantly going through, introducing more traffic/ construction, would massively impact the community and commuters. There is a lovely gas station right down the road and far enough off of 101 to maintain minimal impact to traffic. I think this is excessive, unnecessary, and would genuinely be an insult to our community and environment.

Dear Board of Supervisors,
My name is Julie Golden, and I am a neighbor to the project site. I have waited to submit public comment until my direct adjacent neighbor on the ranch next to this project gave his approval. He has now stated that he will support the Use Permit if the MOU is signed, providing him with the revised easement to his ranch.
I support reversing the Planning Commission denial and approving Use Permit U_2021-0016, **provided that** the required Caltrans improvements for safe ingress and egress to US Highway 101 are made conditions of the permit.
