R4 Discussion and Possible Action Including Direction to Staff to Return to the Board with an Urgency Ordinance Establishing a Temporary Moratorium Prohibiting the Processing and Approval of New Data Centers to Allow for Evaluation of the Public Health and Environmental Impacts

A temporary moratorium that would prohibit the processing and approval of new data centers makes the most sense in order to evaluate the impacts on public health and our local environment. This aligns with the Precautionary Principle that supports no action until safety is assured. Thank you for having this on the agenda.
